Across the road is a shallow depression which is the original “cock pit” from which the pub takes its name.
The Fighting Cocks was built in approximately 1927 alongside the old thatched building which was demolished to make way for the new road.
Ideally situated for walking or
cycling, and situated in a less
commercialized part of the New
Forest, you may see the ponies
and donkeys that frequently
congregate around our pub.
• Patio, beer garden and outdoor children’s play area
• A selection of real ales and scrumpy
ciders available
• Large choice of traditional pub food and
homemade dishes offered from noon to 9.30pm
• Well-behaved dogs welcome on leads in most pub areas
