Plan your Dorset Staycation

18 February 2021

We’ve all had better years. If you’re looking for a much-needed break, look no further - here are 10 good reasons you can’t go wrong with a Dorset staycation in 2021.

Plan your Dorset staycation

  1. Dorset has lots of outside space. Whether on the coast or out in the country, there’s room to spread out and enjoy the great outdoors.
  2. Accommodation – there’s plenty of choice, and accommodation providers, from campsites and B&Bs to luxury cottages and hideaways, have been busy putting measures in place to protect their guests.
  3. Dorset’s attractions and activity providers operate in a safe and responsible way, offering fantastic experiences for the whole family.
  4. Fish and chips – they just taste better by the seaside, and in Dorset you are spoilt for choice.
  5. Take a piece of Dorset home with you – shop at some of the wonderful independent retailers in the county and discover tasty treats and unique treasures.
  6. Gasp in awe at some of the landmarks and places of interest on offer – from the iconic Durdle Door to Shaftesbury’s Gold Hill and everything in between.
  7. Dorset’s plentiful beer gardens are perfect for enjoying a pint or two whilst staying safe and not overcrowding bars.
  8. A walk along the coast can really help lift the spirits – breathe in the sea air and lockdown will seem like a distant memory.
  9. Wildlife – from rare butterflies, to deer and birds of prey – Dorset is home to all sorts of wildlife both on land and in the sea. Look out for dolphins and seals off the coast (but please give them plenty of space).
  10. Dorset enjoys more sunny days than most of the UK, which just helps you enjoy all of the above that little bit more. Of course, those rainy days are covered too!

In summary, if you’re looking for a staycation this year – make it Dorset. Explore more of our wonderful county with Resort Dorset.
