Portland & Weymouth Revealed! 

Reveal -  Portland & Weymouth Towns of Culture 2025 is a celebration of the vibrant cultural scene in Portland and Weymouth.  Showcasing the rich tapestry of artistic expression, local talent, and diverse events that define the two towns. Join in, exploring the unique stories, traditions, and creativity that make Portland and Weymouth the cultural gems of 2025.

What to expect!

Thanks to funding from the Arts Development Company, Portland and Weymouth will see a host of events popping up throughout the two towns over 2025, providing visitors and locals with entertainment throughout the year. 

Portland Events

The launch event planned for Portland is not to be missed taking place on 26th and 27th April (2pm – 7pm), a dynamic and bespoke sound and light installation – ‘State of Alarm’ by Mark Anderson and Liam Walsh. All will be revealed at the fascinating tunnels and chambers of the historic High Angle Battery – which has only just reopened after years of closure. Immerse yourselves in this remarkable site, a treat for all the senses.

The launch event for Weymouth kicks off with a celebratory party at St Nics that you wont want to miss! Featuring the vinyl van and guest DJs, the evening promises great sounds to get you on your feet. The Friendly Society of Artistic Labourer's will take over the gallery and create a inspiring space filled with music and art. Find St Nics at 11 St Nicholas Street, Weymouth - DT4 8AA. 

Towns of Culture Weymouth

Head to Weymouth town centre on the Saturday 26th April (11:30 and 14:30) for the second part of the launch of Towns of Culture.

TRUTH is a co-production between outdoor arts troublemakers Ramshacklicious & inclusive theatre makers Hijinx - an ensemble of playful performers create a unique, inclusive, partly improvised, people focussed outdoor theatrical happening. 

You Can’t Stop the Beat by Remix - The Remix is an inclusive youth performance company open to young people aged 12 to 17, both disabled and non-disabled from across Dorset.  This dynamic and inclusive musical performance guaranteed to bring energy and rhythm to the streets.

Family Fun at Nothe Fort We’ve been talking to Fiona Elliott from Dorsetmums.
